Every year we try to talk the kids into some wonderfully clever theme, but every year the kids reject our ideas in favor of their own. This year we tried to talk them into the Wizard of Oz theme, and I even offered to go as the Wicked Witch, but alas it wasn't to be. Perhaps next year our persistence will be rewarded. This year, Charlie and I settled for having our theme and we let the kids be what they wanted. I think our couple costume turned out pretty good, but it was a bit sketchy there for a while. We were invited to a black and white Halloween Ball this year, so our costumes not only had to be a couple, but also had to be all black and white. It presented a bit of challenge coming up with a good idea,. We tossed around the idea of a pregnant nun and priest for a while, but decided it may be too offensive to someone. I thought a salt and pepper shaker might be cute, but Charlie was having none of that. So eventually we came up with the idea of Bonnie and Clyde, and it ended up being a blast!

As for the kids, they each had their own preconceived ideas of what they would be and we just went along. With the exception of Caleb who was happy just putting on any costume we gave him. We thought and Ewok would be the best, since he absolutely loves them in Star Wars, and he certainly made an adorable Ewok too!!

Not a theme but they all looked great anyway! |
My kids are a buncha bums when it comes to doing a matching costume idea, too. Some year, whether they like it or not and before they get too big, we're going as Santa, the Mrs., and elves. I also want to do Mary, Josheph and the three wise men. One year they were Christmas presents. Hmmm... maybe Christmas is the theme I'm trying to push in general... lol I wanted to say I so loved your pregnant nun idea - that's awesome!
